SCRIPTS-D
Prediction of risk for mental disorders is the cornerstone of “preventive psychiatry”. The SCRIPTSD study seeks to evaluate the long-term outcomes for individuals at genetic risk for schizophrenia in terms of developing mental disorders and impairments in memory, attention, and decision making. Participants from previous studies whose parents or siblings are diagnosed with a psychotic disorder are being brought back to participate in the SCRIPTSD study. On successful completion of the project, our data is likely to provide useful leads to the biological basis of cognitive and diagnostic outcomes and for individuals with family genetic risk for psychosis. Identification of such outcomes may provide fundamental data for the development of novel treatment designs.
